I use to have Insurance thru state farm and they refused to renew my policy last year so I went to geico and paying almost $350 a year more just to get a insurance ...

Accident records stay for 3 years, at least on your driving record.

I recently discovered the CLUE report maintained by Choicepoiint. It contained paid auto damage claims. I found errors in my report, and since Choicepoint is a CRA you can dispute via telephone or in writing just like any CRA.

With any luck your old insurance company may not reply to Choicepoint within the 30 days. They will have to delete the claim(s) and your record will improve.

    It's worth a shot.

My insurance company pulls up my driving record directly, and I doubt there's anything you can do with that. Is your problem points, age, or claims? I ride, and until i was like 24 I was automaticly high risk regardless of my driving record.
Around here, you can get cheaper insurance if you elect to garage the bike during the winter. or you could probably do this yourself if it's not financed - just park the bike half the year and drop the insurance all together. just some ideas..

I live in Illinois (SW Cook County) and I've purchased 6 months policies through GMAc insurance online (gmac123.com).

But, I do think their rates are higher than others. When I just purchased my Intrepid, they quoted me a figure of $1200 for 6 months of insurance!

I have one speeding ticket on my record from 2000.

So, I went through Insure One and am paying not even a third of that.

My parents both ride Harley's...I'll have to ask them
    who they insure them through.

    ====================
1*Ain't this a no brainier: They are at risk for only about 6 months but charge you for 12 months protection.
This aside you can still cover it for 6 months even with a 12 month policy.
All you have to do is cancel some or all of the coverage when you garage the bike. However I recommend you retain Comp while the bike is stored..
2*Don't remove Comp.Coverage when you store it.
3*Geico policies are only for 6 months. And you just said in your other post that last year you went with GEICO to get insurance ... So why not use them??

    One more thing,

In some states, insurance on a motorcycle isnt required...only an endorsement. I am guessing your state DOES require it, otherwise, you wouldnt be asking, lol.

    Who's fault?
state farm refused to renew my policy last year
Mandatory insurance requires to to have insurance you can't get.Hain't that a neat deal???

1* What do you mean directly.
2*He said 2 accidents which would be claims.
3*Reduce the coverage but don't drop it completely.

Insure One is one of the larger insurance companies here in Illinois.

Not sure of the exact terminology, but they offer their own insurance products as well as work with other companies- they quote you all the different rates and you decide which one to sign up with.

They do specialize in people with tickets, accidents, etc but they are one of the few that do not pull a credit report and they also give some awesome safe driver discounts.
