I have Erie, too for my auto and homeowner's insurance. Never pulled an inquiry for anything plus their rates are great. On a 1999 SUV I pay $580 annually with full coverage, rental, and towing. Super company, in my opinion.

It's a small world. I was born in MD (Silver Spring) and married on the Bay. Hubby and I go up to Baltimore to catch the Ravens and Orioles games a couple times a year and usually stop to eat in Little Italy. :)

You still don't know because if there are any DINGS on your Report you will never know what their lowest rate is.!!!

Because of that they are probably overcharging you.

Being overcharged for Ins. is an expensive way to obtain a credit report!

GEICO at 500 for 5 cars is better.
That depends on if the rates go up or not.

Well, I don't have 5 cars. I have one car. And I am perfectly happy with what I have, thank you.

You're paying more for 1 car than i do for 5.

I called Geico four months ago when my policy came up for renewal. Do you know the cheapest rate they offered me...$635 every six months. So I should pay more than twice the amount I'm paying now? I also contacted Allstate, Nationwide, and State Farm. Not one came even close to what Erie is offering. If Geico works for you and you're happy with them that's great, but let's face it different insurance companies offer different people different rates.

    ALAN,

I got a quote from them yesterday and they didn't tell me that they're going to pull the credit report on me. They quote me for $755 for 6 months and it is not cheaper than AllState. The main problem are: Did they repair your car the way that you want? Did they choose your place to repair? Did they raise the premium a lot or cancelled your policy after you had an accident or tickets?

    Beaker,

I bought All-State Auto insurance three years and they told me that they're going to check my credit and driving record. In my renewal, they're checking my credit from TransUnion. There was no hard or soft inquiry on any my credit report even renewal.

LETS REVERSE THE DEAL...say you have a ticket, and a "fender bender"...LOSE 100 F.I.C.O. POINTS???

NOBODY SAID INSURANCE COMPANIES HAD LOGIC...COLLECT PREMIUMS, FIND ANYWAY TO NOT PAY BILLS...
