I did an automobile insurance quote online thru insweb.com and when it came to the quote page it stated that Amica DID NOT pull credit. I did not disclose my SS# on the application and specifically asked for quotes WITHOUT credit reporting. So, now I get a CW email stating there is a new inquiry on my report and who is it from?! Amica Mutual!!!!
How can they do this when I specifically asked NO credit be pulled and on the quote page they stated they DO not pull credit anyways. Do I have to call equifax to dispute this? Will taking off one inquiry really help my credit score? I have alot of inquiries right now from looking for a refinance on my current mortgage so I'm trying to limit them altogether.
Any suggestions? Seems like Amica does false advertising and should disclose they are going to pull your credit! How did they pull it without my SS# anyways? That's scarey!

They just have to match name and DOB or even name and address. I would take it up with Amica - again, Maggie75 had the same problem. I believe she said that Amica deleted the inquiry. Let me repeat, if you ask a GEICO agent up front to quote you without credit, they will.
