    Hi all,

I would like to know if I have high interest rate on my credit card, does it effect my score?

    Now I have :

    Citibank : 18.90% with $7000.00 Limit
    Sears : 21.00% with $3700.00 Limit

Should I ask to decrease the interest rate? or any rules apply for it.

    Thanks

Well your scores usually determine what rates your are offered, Sears probably won't budge, retail cards rarely lower their rates, how long have you had your citibank card and what is your history with them and also do you know roughly what score range you are in??

Interest rates are not contained within your credit histories at the CRA's. Hence, your interest rate has zero bearing on your credit score.

    Hi Momof3,

I have Citibank Card for 3 years. No late payment whatsoever.

And I have no idea what my score range is but I have no delinquency on my report.

I am just wondering If I can upgrade my classic card to Premium Select.

    Thanks

I dont see why not. I got my advantage card upgraded to platinum select within one month of having the card. Call them and ask. Request that they not pull a credit report.

    Thanks Roni,

I didn't know that I can request citibank not to pull my credit report.

Do you mind telling my what interest rate and credit limit you got for Platinum Select?

    Thanks
