I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had interest rates jacked on them. I had a 6% Direct Merchant Bank account become 19% in a few months, because of overlimit fees and higher balances.

I've been asking them to lower the rate every few months. This time I got a 1% decrease - not great but at least a nod in the right direction and they gave me a $20 credit just for the heck of it, I guess.

Just thought I'd share that and ask if it can possibly hurt to ask for lower rates.

Good for you. DMB loves on time and more than the minimum monthly payments. After six months, ask for a 2-4% decrease on your APR.
