interesting note from an amex rep

    I just got off the phone with an Amex rep, straight from her mouth. "if you have more than 5 inquiries on your credit report within a 1 year period you will be DECLINED regardless of credit score. botom line...

    Looks like they're trying hard not to give out cards.

    Who needs 'em anyway?

    Rep swore to me that they pull Equifax! I am in NY and they pulled Experian on me! I assume they denied me becasue of inquiries ( no bumpage on EXP) Please don't assume like many people here that AMEX is strictly EQUIFAX- i wish they were.

    They pulled both EFX and EXP on me last July. Massachusetts.

    at the beginning of the year, they were pulling EQ in TX, now as of late, (based on my limited statistics) they have been pulling EXP now in TX.

    I got both personal and Open Amex accounts with more than 5 inquiries on my Experian reports.
