I pulled my Equifax report and they have my birthdate as 1911. I am 25! It will not let me dispute it because it said you can't change the date by more than 7 years.

The question I have is, should I try to change this or leave it for now? Do you think it would help in disputing things if it is 1911 or 1976? Or would it even matter? I just don't know whether to argue it or apply for social security!

Every time I pull my report, my birthday and that of my hubby are screwed up. I dispute them, they fix them and next time they're screwed up again. I haven't bothered fixing them this time.

One thing I want to mention is that you can tell where a person was born and their approx. age( usually to within two years). I seem to remember that sometimes that can be a flag that someone is lying. One person I know who immigrated here had a comment on a lender's credit report, according to his ssn he was sixteen! He was really about forty!

Maybe it will give you better insurance rates, since they go by your credit report. *hee*
