I saw this on freeadvice. www.chargeoffclearinghouse.com. The site has a FAQ thread that was informative. One of the questions dealt with "what do you get"{meaning documentation} Answer is you get what we get. But, if you need documentation, they have to go to the orginal creditor and are charged anywhere from $5/item to $10/account. Seems to confirm what LKH said last week about Gulf States not getting documentation along with the accounts. Also, take a look at the "trading deak".
That's very interesting! It doesn't sound like the purchasers are getting original documents with debtor's signatures. Does it? I wonder if I could find my debt and buy it! LOL
Killer, That crossed my mind as well. I wonder though if you could get a lawyer to register and scan for debts in a particular location and purchase yours if it appeared? I'm sure there are minimum purchase requirements though and probably problems with breaking up a glob of debts, etc.
