Who is selling their info and offering skip tracing - your phone company (bell south, Qwest), the credit bureaus - Choicepoint and Experian (we knew that), lexis-nexis.. ummm I wonder, could we copyright our personal info, then charge them a high price for reselling it? http://www.collectionsworld.com/01sr02t.htm
Appalling. There seems no end to the data brokering business. We have Verizon (The old Ma Bell after a merge) here on the east coast, and just this past week received a notice to opt out of Verizon and Affiliate marketing programs. You better believe I dropped everything and called that number to prevent them from exploiting my info any more than they have to.
So all Gramm-Bliley does is give us the opportunity to opt out, huh? That is awful. Better than nothing though, I guess.
Deluxe check pritners has compiled a database also, hehe. I see they have removed the detailed descriptions of their procust, and taken if off their main website. http://www.sohocentralusa.com/Deluxe/information.html
