Good, sorry I missed your question, I did not see the thread pop up at all. Oh well its working now...I am sure you will be happy with ZA it is pretty easy and very good.

LOL, get ready for snailmail marketing addressed to whatever business name you put in there. I always put "just me" and believe it or not, I get all kinds of advertising addresses to "Just Me Co."

Sorry to keep this going but I need help again. I installed zone alarm.. everything was peachy until my computer was left alone for a while. Went to dinner with my dad and returned and could not access the internet. It kept asking me what connection I wanted.. so I clicked on my connection and then I got an error message: Connecting via WAN MINIPORT (PPPOE). But it never connected.

So I uninstalled ZoneAlarm. Still could not access the internet - same error message.

Landed up doing a system restore to before I downloaded zonealarm and everything seems fine now.

I'd still like to use zonealarm but would also like to be able to access the internet...<G>... any ideas what would cause that - I poked around to see if some box was checked that shouldn't have been checked, but I don't really know what I'm looking at so it wasn't helpful... so the only thing I could figure to do was uninstall and restore.

    Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks,
    Ozzy.

The only thing I can suggest is that maybe you did not allow "SERVICES AND CONTROLLER APP" to have Internet access along with IE.

When I installed ZA every application I run that tries to connect to the Internet asks me a question "Can XYZ application use the Internet?" and if I say "YES" then I am ok.

I would email ZA and ask as you did before.

Nave you're right thats what happened, you also want to make absolutely sure you allow Generic Host Process for Win32 Services access... If you don't Nothing works, this one alone may be the culprit. It should ask you for access in the interim. Once you configure zonealarm it's smooth sailing.......
