Re: Unofficial CreditNet Board FAQ Hey vg, Plain HTML is perfect. Even a word doc is fine. There are no "public" FTP capabilities, I am just putting the file up on a server that is being used for a different purpose (the FAQ does not create much of a bandwith drain). That allows me to make updates without bothering the board moderator. A long while back PBM and I talked and thought it would be best if it were offsite for that purpose, and hence the "unofficial" FAQ status. I believe a "new" user to the Creditnet Board would see the first post which contains the link. You (vghost) see the last post that you read (the end of the thread) since you have previously read the thread and presumably know how to navigate back because you read it ). However, I understand your point and I try to repeat the first post everytime I make an update to the FAQ so that it gets tossed into the thread a couple times. Peace, Dave
Re: Unofficial CreditNet Board FAQ NEW (Perhaps Temporary) UNOFFICAL FAQ LOCATION New FAQ Location ...
Re: Unofficial CreditNet Board FAQ Way to go, Butch! I think it's reasonable for us to ask Nave if he's still in the mood to update this great document -- if not, and you're interested, Butch, you seem like a terrific candidate to me. (Nave's my buddy, so nobody better misinterpret this post as anything but what it is.) Doc
Re: Re: Unofficial CreditNet Board FAQ Absolutely Doc. People were asking about it so I just put it up until we hear from Dave. Frankly I don't know if I can spare the time to do the right kind of job on it. It does need work as it's not been updated for a long time. It's entirely up to him. .
Re: Re: Unofficial CreditNet Board FAQ Well, gang, here is an edited version of the FAQs: http://demospace.net/vgcredit/FAQ.asp I have recategorized it, got few things out, put some new things in - go take a look and let me know what you think. I can keep it updated with your comments and suggestions. Once we are done we'll have to think where to put it and how to make it official. Dave, Butch - I wrote it in VBScript, 'cause it's easier for me to updated it this way. When the time comes I'll give you a plain HTML version.
Re: Re: Unofficial CreditNet Board FAQ Hi gang! My apologies!!! We had to move the server and I simply forgot the BoardFAQ was stored by IP address. I see you have already moved the FAQ to a new location. If you are satisfied to maintain this, that is great!! But if you still wish, I will upload the new server info where we moved, and I will again store the FAQ there. It is up to you. Let me know if you want me to do this. By the way THANKS to Butch Doc and Vghost for jumping in and taking care of this for me. Again sorry for the lapse in the FAQ on my part. Peace, Dave
Bad Link The FAQ link is not working. Creditnet Note: Non-working links throughout this thread have been updated.
Re: Re: Re: Unofficial CreditNet Bo Nave, Creditnet members owe you a big debt of gratitude for originating the FAQ idea, organizing an amazing amount of member-generated information, and maintaining the document for so long a period. And of course I'd like to join you in thanking Butch for generously jumping in at the right moment and providing the mirror and maintenance. Since Creditnet as a company will not provide direct legal counsel and strikes no judgments regarding the content of member posts, your member-generated "Unofficial FAQ" goes so much farther than anything "official" we could reasonably endorse and maintain. As a result, Nave and Butch, thousands of Straight Talk members and tens of thousands of unregistered lurkers have surely benefitted by your seminal contributions. Assuming either of you don't object later (in which case I'll undo my deed), I will post a brief pre-script to the original message in this thread updating members to the current status of the FAQ in Butch's care. (I would also like to thank vghost for his wonderfully reformatted mirror!) With thanks, CCN steve
Re: Re: Re: Unofficial CreditNet Bo Everyone is certainly welcome. Nave built it. All I've done really is keep it available as I thought it to be a valuable resource. But the FAQ is actually a product of everyones participation. I'm ready to update anytime the CN membership wants to see new additions. The new additions thread is available for members to recommend additions to the FAQ. It's at: FAQ ADDITIONS! Be sure to visit there should you wish to add new FAQ material. .
Re: Re: Re: Unofficial CreditNet Bo I do not object in fact I whole heartedly approve. I wish I could be more active but alas I can not spend as much time as I used to in this arena. I do however always check back and if I can in any way contribute I will try my best to do so. Love you all. Peace, Nave
