Over a month and a half ago, I disputed 2 collections and 2 student loans as "not mine" online with EQ. At the time I disputed, I was still signed up for the free trial of CreditWatch, which I later discontinued (4 credit reports a year, what a joke!) Both collections and loans showed up as disputes on my last report about 3 weeks ago.

Since then, I haven't recieved anything in the mail from EQ. My question is - if all my disputed items were validated, is EQ supposed to notify me of this by mail? Or do they only send you something if they make a change to your report? How should I follow up on this? Should I send a 30-day validation letter?

They will notify you either way by mail. What date did you start the investigation? Did you print out your confirmation #?

I personally would start by calling and asking for the results and then ask why they didn't send you an updated copy. See what they say and then let us know. If necessary, at that point, an intent to sue letter may become necessary.
