I have two capitol one cc in collections. About $600 each.

A ca called me the other day and offered me a settlement deal. I tried everything I could think of to get them to pay for deletion but they would not do it.

SO if I take the settlement deal does it look any better at all on my credit report than a collection status with a balance?

If they won't agree to a Pay For Delete (PFD) then try for a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). In the NDA you will insert language that states that they agree not disclose this matter, or any part thereof, to any third party, including Credit Reporting Agencies.

Inserting this NDA will permit you to dispute the debt after the settlement is paid and if they verify the debt to the CRA then you have a violation of the NDA and you can sue them for Breach of Contract. If they abide by the NDA and say nothing to the CRA then the CRA must by law delete the TL.
