==Is Amex Really this BAD?==

    I'm doing re-serach on AMEX before I send in my pre-approved app, but wow from what i'm reading online it's kindda scary.

    Any AMEX card holders here, have had problems with American Express?

    I have never had a problem with them - 3 years. I think some of those people are not telling the entire story.

    3.5 YEARS NO LIMIT INCREASE (BLUE) except the FAKE $5,000 one and the FAKE $300 one (THEY NEVER EXISTED) WEB PAGE GLITCH...

    DENIED "PRE-APPROVED" CASH BACK CARD 3 TIMES

    DENIED "PRE-APPROVED" DELTA GOLD

    Had to "SPIN-OFF" $5,000 from BLUE to get DELTA GOLD @ $5,000

    GOT 4 "HARD" INQUIRES FOR THAT FIASCO!!!

    I have been waiting for 2.5 months for "RE-ALIGNMENT" of the credit limits...

    E-MAILS IGNORED
    PHONE CALLS IGNORED
    FAXES IGNORED
    SNAIL MAIL IGNORED
    EXPRESS MAIL IGNORED

    BUT THEN----->UYGF

    OTHER THAN BEING IGNORED...AND THE DELTA GOLD I AM NEVER "TARGETED" FOR SPECIAL OFFERS, I STILL LIKE AMEX SOME WHAT...

    all credit cards have the sux web sites I love amex.

    Pick a card. Any card. You'll find cardholders who love it and cardholders who hate it.

    we had problems with amex, wenn we asked them to
    pull our money back from a avis car rental place, because they charged us more then we agreed on,
    they said they will not and that this is between avis and us.
    and after 30 days late on payment they put on collections. We wre advised not to py , because if we would we would automaticly agree to the overcharge.

    32 years with AmEx, never a single problem. We always got all the disputes resolved quickly and to our satisfaction, never talked to a bad customer rep (!) and in general never had any bad happenings with them.

    They are also one of the cards in our portfolio that never jacked our rates up.

    Maybe we are just lucky.

    the customer service reps are highly uneducated about the tier levels and how they work. They simply do not understand the powers that be, and make promises they cannot fullfill. Time after time they continue to do this.


    but since they have given me 90K in credit lines, i can't deny them on trying to please me :)

    AMEX DELTA has double miles...05/15-07/15 (up to $20,000 IN PURCHASES)

    IF YOU DON'T SIGN UP~~YOU DON'T GET IT!!!!

    HOW HARD WOULD IT BE TO GIVE EVERYBODY THE DOUBLE MILES???????????

    I've always been happy with them & have an acct with them for over 8 years.
