I am the only one who sees a Capital One ad for their Platinum card everywhere I turn or are they using "cookies" implanted in my hard drive to recognize me as one of their customers. I use their on-line services.

It's quite possible that some of the sites you are visiting are using the same adserver (doubleclick, avenuea, inktomi) as Cap 1. Since they know you visit that site, you might get the Cap 1 ads pushed at you more frequently.

Broswer cookies have far more insideous uses than the cookie-pushing ad networks would have you believe.

I get the same feeling :) , they seem to have bought banner space on every major banner adverting provider, that's why we see them everywhere we go, Just like Providian seems to be pumping a lot of advertising dollars on their TV commercials these days.

By the way, I dont know if Capital One uses Cookies or what their privacy policy is but since you use their services online then they may be tracking you.
