I did a search on CSC and found info here about their practices but I would like to get some advice on how to handle them. My boyfriend has been receiving phone calls from a "Ms. Jones" of "CSC's Tax Reporting and Compliance Dept." She says that his SS# has been flagged by the IRS and that he needs to get in contact with them before they make a decision on his case. I know good and well that the IRS would have contacted my boyfriend my mail AND he wouldn't have gotten his refund almost a month ago. Are there any violations of the FDCPA that he could possibly seek? I have a voicemail through my landline service that will be stored for 14 days. What can he do?
Ummmm I think you have some big time violations here. I would keep that tape and let them keep sinking themselves. They CANNOT threaten you with IRS problems.
Has he settled a debt for less than the full amount and could he be in a position of receiving a 1099? I don't believe it's legit, though. Just another tactic to get him to call them, in my opinioin.
