the creditor isnt reporting anymore, or even in the last year? Ive seen some of my collections havent reported in a few years. and others for major sums of money havent reported in over a year, while yet other annoying sub standard credit card companies like first premier have reported as of last month. If a ca hasnt reported in a couple years is it statistically less likely they will verify the debt (unless they have some form of auto-verification system at work)?

Also, when you send in a dispute to the CRA, do they leave it on or remove it while being investigated, or the more direct question being, when they investigate a dispute does something change in the status that would at least effect scoring while the investigation in being done?

    thak you!

Yes....the longer it's been the better the chance of deletion. That's why it's best to try to delete the oldest first.

When you dispute the account will still show on the report. It's supposed to help your score, but sometimes it doesn't. Some CRA's will show on the report that it's being disputed, but not all the time.

These are some of the things that we all talk about when you hear about violations. It's best to look at it as a crapshoot that the CRA is gonna follow the law.
