Is Junum worth the mo. fee?

OK - I have another question.
Not to be nosey, but how many of you REALLY consider Junum to be worth the $$? How long does it take them to "clean up a crappy credit report"? I know for a fact that I have something called E credit. Whatever this is, it is not good. Some of you seem to have really good success with Junum and some of you seem to only get about HALF of what you want removed REMOVED.
How many of you are really better off with Junum than you would be if you went through Consumer Credit Counseling Service or a Bankruptcy attorney?

CCCS is not worth it. All of your accounts get marked with CCCS on your credit reports. It is a red flag that will trash your ability to get credit foryears.

So in that comparision, Junum is a lot better. Junum will get most of the items deleted within 6 months.

Six months ain't bad. I've read on this forum though that there are those of you (if I am understanding right) that have been with Junum for a year or more and STILL have bad marks on your credit. YIKES!

Junum is unbelievable..I can't say enough about them. I've called when I've had questions and gotten immediate help. I've had 18 deletions on first cycle.. My customer service has been above and beyond.

    I'm a fan, no doubt!

Let me say that I went throught CCCS...not them specifically, but an agency that's similar. They don't get the negatives off your report. They work with you and your creditors, serve as a middleman. They negotiate lower payments/reduced or no interest and put you on a payment plan to pay your creditors back. I heard some people had some bad experiences with CCCS (i.e. not paying on time, etc), but I had an excellent experience.

Some of my creditors marked my account as "managed by CCCS", but as each account was paid off, I asked that the notation be removed and they ALL have done so. What's more, sure, that hurt me, but at that time, if I couldn't pay what I had, I didn't need any new credit. It was a small price to pay to know that ultimately, I'd repay my creditors and to them, prove that I was committed to repaying. It was a wonderful alternative to BK.

Now if you're not trying to repay your creditors, then Junum is the way. I'm using them now and am having much success.

    Good luck to you!

    I think that's a significant point.
Depends on what you want out of it.

Do most of us really need to go with this service called Junum, I'm need to the board but as I have been reading it over I have saw a persont that has gotton they credit report cleard on their own other people that have done the same. I understand everybody is different but, my point is that way pay someone now matter how much when there are ways you can do it yourself for less.

True I would have to agree with you but on here alone I have seen some great letters from people. I guess it all depends on the person.

    Re: junum

Ditto Lizard King and Shantel. CCCS is highly recommended by financial "experts"; why, I have no idea. Did a year stint with a CCCS and came out worse rather than better-at the advice of a creditor. Nearly 1/3 of my accounts did not start to receive payments until three months after I started. One didn't receive any!!! That account now has a 120+ entry thanks to this (dis)service.

I think comparing the two is like apples to oranges. CCCS is worthless. You can do as well or better by negotiating w/creditors on your own. Certainly no worse.

I am on the brink of Junum, at least for six months. My disputes have gotten me nowhere, b/c the collection agencies just don't seem to be compelled to respond.

I just signed on with Junum as well and my reasoning was for a few reasons. One is time. I just don't have the time to write all these letters. Also there is knowledge. I don't know all the rules, how long should I space things out, how many disputes in a letter, etc. They have this down to a science and know what they are doing. I tried getting things off my report a few years back and got a grand total of about 3-4 things off all three reports. I have seen people report 15-20 things removed from Junum in one round!

I really enjoyed doing my own disputes, etc...but the key for me in going with Junum was EFFECTIVENESS!! I had good results, they had better...and faster!

Maybe I could have done it..but it would have taken so much time...why would I do that???

    So, Tasha, that's my reason.

    costs of doing it yourself

To a lot of people, it's worth it to pay someone. I could write the letters and handle the disputes myself, but I don't have the time or the patience. It's an individual decision. Would you rather spend 2-3 hours a months writing letters and then have the postage costs (including certification and return receipts), or would you rather pay to have someone did it for you?

Shyguy, that's an important factor..the postage almost equaled (sometimes more) than just hiring junum...:)
