In the Lexington kit, it basically says that if you owe a creditor less than $10,000.00 in unsecured debt, you have very little to worry about as far as them coming after you, due to their legal expenses, etc... Yet, I read all over the Internet about cc companies actually suing people over $2-3000.00. Is Lexington getting people burned or something?
I think they mean well. I mean they are a legitimate comany. But they are not really a law firm in any way that is meaningful to you. They are simply a credit repair firm and only a mediocre one at that. You can definitely do much better for yourself by carefully reading this board for a couple of weeks, using the search feature for anything you don't understand, and then doing it all yourself. There are many very effective techniques commonly discussed here on this board that Lex doesn't do at all.
Thanks for the response, Superadman. I've actually been around here for a while and I've been doing my own credit repair. I was just wondering if anyone has gotten burned by following Lex's advice. I sure hope not.
I was their client for several months early in 2001. I got burned 2 different ways. I thought I was hiring credit assassins, indeed I was hiring credit Ass Ass Ins. They did not do much more than send letters to the CRAs that said "it wasn't me, it wasn't me" Their P.O. Box in Salt Lake City showed up as an additional address on all 3 of my CRA reports They are definitely worth $10 per month for 3 or 4 months but I'm sure they charge much more than that.
