Two days ago I received an offer from AT&T Universal for their platinum card and then today I got an invitation from Discover for their platinum card. I have an unpaid chargeoff with Discover, so apparently they don't check their records. Just wondering that with 2 different platinum offers in the last 3 days, does that mean that my credit is getting better? I currently have 6 months of positive history with 2 different companies.
Don't read too much into the Discover offer. I get that one all the time.....so does my mom who passed away 4 years ago and my dad who hasn't lived in CA in 10 years (these offers come to my address!). I'm sure Discover will be sending my cat Tiger an offer any second now! What a waste of paper... Now in my opinion I see the AT&T offer as a sign that your credit just might be turning around. In the last 4 months I've been receiving various offers in the mail (Orchard, Aspire, Discover, 1st Premier, Spiegel, etc.). I decided to turn my credit around 14 months ago and started adding more positive trade lines ~12 months ago. So it basically took ~8 months for me to start receiving (other than Discover) offers. In retrospect, I just remember something. I received 2 offers from Citibank AAdvantage that came addressed to me here at work (my AA FF miles correspondence comes to my job). I read them over but didn't fill them out (thought I would never get approved). Then I was approved on-line for 2 AAdvantage cards. Interesting.....
i get discover, at&t and citi and my score was about 600. They buy names off computer-related websites..
