The Washinton Post finally discovered that ccc can raise rates at will. Nothing new in this article except, an interview with a Congressman who has introduced legislation to prohibit ccc from scouring credit repors {his words} to find derogatory info to raise rates to holders of there cards. The Congressman is John Lafalce of N.Y. Sorry, the link seems to have disappeared {it was from the 19th} but, prephaps we need to ask our Congressional representatives to support the bill.
Breeze {and others}, I am horribly computer challenged. Here's what I did. Do a "Google" search using the name Congressman John Lafalce. The first listing is his web site. Let it load and click on John's views and commentary. You then want the 2001 press release and srart scrolling through the Nov. stuff and you'll come to Credit Card abuse. That's the one! Sorry about the disjointed instructions.
