Hello Credinet. I came here first as an international student trying to know about credit score, etc. and am still so glad I found this place. Thanks to you guys, I got some guidance. I am now in a position where I need yet some more opinions and guidance from you experienced people. I had applied for a credt card and got one in September last year. (CapitalOne). The rest (3) that I applied to got rejected (understandably) as I had no credit, having just arrived in US. With the credit limit fixed at $500 when I joined, it had increased automatically in December to $750. All bills have been paid in time. No balance left. I tried getting my free credit report, and did get it, but only later understood that what I was looking for was the FICO score. Since it's just about 5-6 months that I now have a credit report, in your experience, 1. what credit limit would I get if I applied for a credit card now? 2. Does my credit score determine my credit limit or my interest rate? 3. Should I apply for one now, or wait a few months so I get a higher credit limit? Thanks.
1.It can vary. 2.In most cases yes, credit history plays a big part.a;so different type's off credit such as auto, department stores etc. 3.I'd wait or try a department store.
