I'm still trying to learn all the terms and my rights. I have medical collections I am trying to take care of. I live in PA and wondered how long they can be on my credit report. To begin with, they should have been paid by insurance, how long can you go after the insurance company? How long can the CA try to collect these accounts?

They would be considered closed-end/installment credit.

See this page: Statute of Limitations

    And this one: Olddebts.com

Not sure what category medical account fall under on these charts.

Collections of any kind, can remain on a report for 7 years from the date of last activity.

I just wanted to put this back out there. I received a call from NCO Financial regarding a med collection in 1998. I never signed any paperwork so would my med collection be governed by an oral agreement?

Have you sent them a validation letter?

    I've been there already....

    12/10/01: 1st validation letter
01/02/02: 2nd validation letter (they removed account from credit report)
02/01/02: NCO reported account under a different number
02/13/02: wrote intent to file suit letter (they removed a 2nd time)
present: received a phone from NCO worm and if the past holds true they will report it again

I am writing a C&D communciation letter to them and reiterating my request for validation. I just wanted another thing to add like "SOL has expired as well".

The central question is; why weren't they paid by your ins. co.?
