DH's last 2 negs on Exp are 1996 ch7 bk and 1 incl in bk acct - Montgomery Wards. I am almost positive I stopped paying on this account way prior to dh's bk which he filed in 7/96(I believe last payment would have been 12/1995). Exp is reporting it is due to fall off 8/2003. I have disputed it twice. Once as not mine and the other as re-aged. I just tried to dispute again - no dice. Is there a letter I can mail to whoever is verifying this info? I want this acct gone quickly so I can attack the bk reporting as it is being reported incorrectly as well. Any ideas?? Here is how it is being reported: Status: Included in bankruptcy. Status Details: This account is scheduled to continue on record until 8-2003. This item was verified on 4-2003 and remained unchanged. Date Opened: 09/1994 Type: Revolving Reported Since: NA Terms: NA Date of Status: 02/1999 Monthly Payment: $0 Last Reported: NA Responsibility: Individual Credit Limit/Original Amount: NA High Balance: $801 Recent Balance: NA Recent Payment: NA Account History: Discharged Through BK Ch 7, 11, or 12 on 02/28/1999
Here's just a thought... Why not nutcase it? I've never heard it used for BK'd accounts. But the darn thing is so old, what could it hurt?
Speaking as someone with 12+ old IIB tl's on Experian not falling off till next year, I'd just wait the 4 months. Even with all the BK Crap my middle score is 660 and my wife (715) and I can qualify for a mortgage. Sometimes when you over-dispute the IIBs they turn into charge offs which is even worse. Save the BK dispute itself for this years CHOD. I am having not having much luck disputing directly with OCs. Only success so far was getting 1 charge off turned back into IIB.
kelcol: Earlier today, I pointed hostage to a thread where Butch was advising lilgong that sometimes CRAs will delete a near obsolete TL at the 6 yr 9 mo. mark, some even as early as 6.5 yr mark. I can relocate and point you to the thread if you like. It seems like what would you have to lose just to try phoning the CRA and nicely asking them to delete the MW TL since it's almost 7 yrs. and you really need it gone (pick your own tearjerker reason) ? You might try a number of times assuming you get a different CSR each time. ??? This has been discussed in quite a few threads and perhaps you've already tried ? Just a thought, in case you hadn't considered it.
