Here is the timeline on a collection account I have (it is paid by the way). I did not know the right way to go about all of this when I started!!!

    10/01
Listed as Unpaid. I disputed it as paid (DUUHHHH) and it was updated.

    1/02
It was listed as Paid. I began to send validation requests to CA.

    4/02
The CA sent me two computer printouts that we NOT validation at all. This is when I started to understand what I was doing (thank you CN). They began listing the acct as "checked" (anyone know what that means???).

    6/02
    They finally deleted.

    7/02
It is back on my report listed as Unpaid. Equifax never sent me anything notifying me that it was being reinserted.

What is my next move on this?

    Thanks!!

I am afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but someone will answer it. If not we will keep bumping it to the top until someone does. :)

Well, if EFX didn't notify you that they were reinserting a deleted item, then they have violated the FCRA. From what others have said on this board the only way to force the issue with them is to file a lawsuit.

It may be that you could talk to someone at EFX and get it fixed, but somehow I doubt it...
