On my TU CR which is current as of yesterday, I am looking at my bankruptcy public record and it states this info: "Chapter 7 bankruptcy discharged Docket Number#: 73897224 Federal District Entered: 06/1996 Plaintiff: Assets: $0 Liabilities: $0 Plaintiff Attorney: XXXXXXX Paid: 10/1996" The question is I DID HAVE OVER $15,000 worth of liabilities! And they are reporting I filed with 0 liabilities? Can I dispute this with TU and get it deleted? It is scheduled to continue on record until 06-2010. I am new at this stuff. Thanks for your replies. Is TU easy or hard to deal with on these matters?
Yes, you can dispute. I have seen several people post that they disputed with TU saying, "I have never filed a BK with $0 assets & $0 liabilities". Give it a try, you have nothing to lose except the listing on the CR. Good luck! paw67
Thanks, for that encouragement. I am now wondering if it would be more effective to dispute the Bk by mail or online? Anyone know which is the better way to go?
People (myself included) have had good luck online. I also like CMRRR, I had 6 deletions from TU, and just one yesterday from EQ not completing their investigations in 30 days, because I think they have to hand enter these letters.
Jlynn, I sent a dispute to TU, maybe about 6 items. They either verified or deleted the TL, but one they ignored. I sent TU a letter telling them to delete but they have ignored me so far. Should i wait alittle longer - its been about 2 weeks.
