Is this FDCRA violation?

Medical collection put on Experian credit report by CA less than 1 year ago. Sent full C&D letter, not a DV letter. Did not use word "Dispute" in C&D letter. CA received letter (CMRRR green card signed & returned). CA promptly updated Last Reported date to match date of C&D letter.

Can they do this or is this a FDCRA violation?

You asked them not to contact you. If they haven't contacted you, they have complied with your request. They can still report, and they can notify you if they are suing.

Cease and Desist means not to contact you, it does not mean they cannot continue to persue any legal avenue to collect the debt

It's FDCPA and nodding with the other posters, nup no violation.

Why would you send a full c&d and yet never request validation or dispute the debt?

Only excuse is I'm a newbie...
Hadn't researched as much as I should have. Thinking about sending verification/validation letter w/LIMITED C&D to same CAs, which from what I have been reading would supersede previous full C&D.

    Thanks for your reply,

That's as good a reason as anything else, LOL, I was just curious.
