I am rebuilding my credit, i just got an orchard card in november and it has reported to transunion with the correct account number but experian has a different account number both accounts are marked paid and have the correct balance. (this is my only cc) my question is should i dispute the account on experian with the wrong account number? or should i just leave it because it's marked o.k?
it this normal for crdit cards to report this way?

    Thanks a bunch

You don't have to dispute the account, but you can request Experian to "verify" the account information. This can be done on line.

TU tends to show the complete account number whereas EXP does not.

The account number should be sixteen digits. How many is EXP showing?

well i just pulled my true credit, both accounts are showing 12 digits. The transunion account is showing the first 12 correct digits of my credit card number while experian has 12 digits thats not even close to my account number.

    If it's good . . . leave it alone.

This is normal. Acct numbers are changed on reports as an added layer of protection to the consumer.

    Every account has 16 digts. Assume it's 1111 2222 3333 4444.
One CRA will post it as 1111 2222 3333 but leave out the 4444.
Another will leave out the 1111 amnd post it as 2222 3333 4444.

To ease your mind, perhaps the best thing to do is call Experain, and verify they have the correct account number in their files. Reports often do have "scrambled" account numbers as a securtiy measure.

If this is bothering you, try a call just to verify the information is correct (it sounds like it is).
