Is this proper validation?

My wife is disputing a bill a psychologist has sent us for $160.00. She walked out of an hour appointment 10 minutes into it because of what she deemed his unprofessional behavior yet we are still being billed for the appointment.

I sent a validation letter to the Collection Agency, and today received back the following.

    1. A copy of a form my wife signed outlining the Counseling Centers Financial Policy. This outlines their charges for appointments, cancled appointments, etc. This states that she understands these charges and realizes unpaid balances are forwarded to CA's.

    2. A copy of the Counseling Center's computer billing system. This is tough to decipher but basically lists her appointments and if and when the billed insurance and received payment.

What should our next step be? Did they validate properly or not? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

I had a billing problem with the dentist. They sent it to a CA. I ignored the CA and went after the dentist. Someone found the american dentist association which regulates them and I called them and quoted it. She said she would write off the bill and call the CA. Of course I will not totally believe it until I have the proof. I called the CA and told her to call the dentist. She said she would not and would wait for them to cal her. She did not want to give up collecting I guess. I got a funny feeling she will try and talk them out of it but if they do the crap will hit the fan. Find out who regulated that quack and do some research.

    Touchdown,

What more do you expect? Why not just call the OC and ask them to take it back from the CA and pay 'em?

If the psychologist was in the wrong I think she should look up her rights first. I would not pay someone if they were in the wrong.

Well, we would pay the bill if we thought we owed it. But paying for services not rendered does not make sense. She ended the appointment 10 minutes into it because of his lack of professional behavior.

I faxed the Counseling Center this morning a letter letting them know I inted to file complaints with the pyschology board as well as the Attorney General.

Should I pursue anything with the CA?

    Thanks

I need a little help again with this situation, here is an update.

After we faxed the Counseling Center a "Threat to File Compaint" letter if they did not have the account removed from collections and have the CA update to the bureaus, they faxed us back a letter stating they would have it removed from collections.

Well the CA is still reporting it on my wife's Equifax report (and I'm sure others). I called the CA today and they stated that indeed the account has been canceled with their agency per the Original Creditors request. I asked the rep if they have asked for the information to be remvoed from my wife's credit file she stated that they can not do that once it's been reported to them.

What steps do I take now? I left a voice mail with the reps supervisor but want to have something to come back with when I talk to her tommorrow. Do I have a intent to file law suit letter ready? Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks
