I disputed an account that isn't mine on my credit report. I got it deleted from Trans and Exp. I got a letter from equifax on Nov. 26th saying that it isn't reporting on my credit report. Today I pulled my Equifax report and the same tradeline is showing!!! I didn't receive any notice saying they were going to add it back onto my report!! What do I do now???
is sounds as though it was removed during investigation and they put it back when it was verified. it takes about a week to get the results once they are completed. as far as them saying it wasn't on there, i get that all the time. i usually consider it to be too many cooks in the kitchen...one person removes it and begans investigation, another person in the step doesn't realize the first person removed it and says "hey its not even on here!" - you get the idea. send a letter w/a copy of the report showing its on there and inform them they still only have 30 days from the date of original dispute.
The letter I got saying it wasn't on my report was 36 days after I sent the original dispute letter. So I don't think it could be that they just sent the letter to me before the dispute process started or it was verified.
i'm assuming it was their before??? review both reports and make sure everything matches. i've heard of CA's changing the account number by 1 digit or $1 and getting it back on without having to validate to the CRA.
i think you need to send an ITS to the CRA. me personally would probably call the CRA and tell them exactly what is going on and tell them i expect immediate removal - not another 30days. otherwise the next correspondence will be from my lawyer.
