Is this reinsertion?

In September of 2001 I noticed a creditor (Cingular) had put a derog on my credit report with Equifax. I disputed it with Equifax and they deleted it in Oct. 2001.

In Jan or Feb of 2003, a collection agency puts the derog on my Equifax credit report. This is the same one, showing Cingular as the OC. The OC name is the same, so is the amount, it was just reported by the CA instead of Cingular.

Equifax didn't notify me they had reinserted, but I'm not sure if because it was reported by the OC the first time, vs being reported by the CA now, this would qualify as a reinsertion. Technically, it is the same debt that was deleted to begin with.

    Is this reinsertion?

I'd say it is not a reinsertion in the strictest sense of the word.

It is reinsertion of the information but the fact that it is reported by a different reporter says to me that it is not a reinsertion from a technical standpoint.

Practically it is but technically it isn't.

That's the way I see it.
