seriously stupid?? Hi all, I want to know if anyone ever experienced this before......first, I sent a letter of dispute of 2 accounts to TU, of course the letter said if it cant be verified I want a deletion, and they said they verified, (big surprise) so then I sent the CA's a letter demanding validation--they didnt respond...so I sent a second letter that they either validate or delete...no response, all these letters were sent crrr and it took about 2 months, so I sent tu a copy of these letters with the crrr reciepts as proof of non validated debts being reported and to remove the items from the report and they sent me a letter saying that they do not accept my documentation and they will investigate it, ( which I asked them to do 3 months ago, and they said they validated those liars) they said they will let me know of any change. Now it says in FCRA that if a debt cannot be validated it must be deleted and the CRA's must accept proof from the debtor. which they havent done and in the last letter to TU I quoted this but still they sent they do not accept my documentation, now is this for real, can they do this?? what should I do now? thanx

Call TransUnion. politely explain to the rep that: 1) the debt is not yours and you want it off your report 2) you've tried to get them to verify but they never did 3) you sent them letters but they said they verified 4) you sent your creditors the same letters but they never responded either 5) you're at a loss and don't know what to do next 6) ask her/him what to do. if the rep is unhelpful and/or mean, hang up and call again. most likely though, they'll offer to dispute it for you. the most you can hope for then is that they won't verify the way you couldn't. and to aid your case further take care of your past addresses.
