OK,ran over my CR's with a fine tooth comb and noticed that my account that I referred to in this thread: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=423480#post423480 shows up on my EX CR in the remarks section as: "Account in dispute-reported by subscriber." Now mind you, I have not disputed anything with the CRAs as of yet. I just have the agreement and letter above with them for the pay for deletion. Is this remark them taking the initiative to remove it and all I need to do is dispute it with the other 2 CRAs? Did I run smack into dumb luck or I am I just reaching here?
I wouldn't get your hopes up, that is EX's 'notation of dispute', remember to be correctly reporting the company needs to notate that a dispute was received when you request validation of the debt. Some companies even pro-actively notate the account in dispute even when they have never heard from the consumer, because that way they are 'safe' from not reporting that the account is in dispute.
Thanks Jam, I figured it was too good to be true. If I dispute it with EX thay HAVE to take the dispute though right? They can't say it's already been disputed by the CA and then I am on terminal hold while they do nothing? I read about somewhere about EX being bad about getting the online dispute and snail mail then slapping the person upside the head with frivolous. My situation is not the same but I won't rule out that they will misconstrue it however they want....ppppffffttttt!
