Hello All! Okay, I know OC's are more difficult to catch in violation, but look at this.

Account Number: XXXXXXXXXX Rate or Status: 120+ DAYS PAST DUE
Account Owner: Individual High Credit: $471
Type of Account : Revolving Terms or Monthly Payment: $0
    Date Opened: 10/1994 Balance: $551
Date Reported: 11/2003 Past Due: $551
Date of Last Activity: 12/1997 Months Reviewed: 99
    Comments: Collection Account

This account is in dispute! They updated today on EQ!
DOLA is 12/1997, can they report it as 120+ days? They are stating no 30 days past due, 1 60 and 1 90, though yesterday there wasn't even a 60 day past due! Lbrown? GEORGE? VGhost? Anyone? Wouldn't this be considered knowingly reporting false information? Thank you all! NuB

Is it a charge off? What is it supposed to be?

It's been reporting as a CO on Experian every single month. It's been reporting as 120 days on EQ every single month. I should add that this OC has religiously reported every single month, all these years. I'm wondering if this was just their automatic update, or if the CRA's checked with them at all? Thanks Jlynn! i have a dental bill on one of my clients that for four years has been reporting 120 days late and as an installment loan. they've disputed and the clinic keeps verifying. this too is on equifax. when i called for a rapid redo on score and explained that it is dental bill, not an installment agreement, equifax still refused to fix it citing "the OC reports it this way"........

But isn't it illegal to report it this way? Or am I way off base?

i posted the same question on the medical sol thread because i simply don't know. medical crap is one area i don't know. my question on the other thread was if it is a UCC (goods or services) or written contract (in regards to SOL). if i can figure that out, i can figure out the rest.

i believe if it is a collection, it must be reported as such, and an old collection is not as bad as currently past due 120 days.
