I had almost finished getting my reports in decent shape and then I get hit with another bogus derog on my credit report. It actually is a duplicate listing for a POSITIVE account. So I now have a positive account with a zero balance and never late status and the same account is also listed as a "charge off" with a balance and the notation "purchased by another lender" This account is old really old in fact is inactive from about 1997. I donâ??t understand how the OC made this error so long after the account has been inactive and is a POSITIVE account? I just finished typing up my letter to the CRA letting them know about this duplication and telling them to ONLY delete the negative derog and not the positive account but you can never tell what your going to get when you are dealing with these CRA. Wish me luck
Does it need to come off quickly? I wonder if you'd be better off getting validation on the charge off or at least going the OC route rather than CRA. If the positive is the correct account, the OC shouldn't have a problem removing the dup. Good luck!
