I sent a procedure request to Equifax over 30 days ago and still have not received anything. Do they have to respond to this request within 30 days like a dispute or do they have a different time period for this type of request? If they can't send me the procedure they used to verify it how can they report it still and how can they say that it was verified?
Actually, they have only 15 days from the date they received the request to furnish you with a procedural description.
The procedures part of the FCRA does not say anything about if you don't send procedures you have to delete the tradeline. But! It is a violation to not send procedures within 15 days. Did you send the letter certified? Why don't you give us the details of what you disputed, what the results were, etc. Probably be best if you can combine into multiple violations and then send an ITS.
It is an account that is not mine. It was verified by the OC and the CRA sent me a letter saying it was verified. I sent them back a procedures request letter via certified mail and they still haven't sent me anything.
