    Happy MLK Day everybody!!!
    Here's my situation (briefly):
I sent disputes to Equifax, they came back saying they didn't know who I was- I ignored it. During the course of the 30 day waiting period-they sent about 3 or 4 of my credit reports. They NEVER responded to any of my disputes. I sent a few more disputes to Equifax- I let what happened previously "ride" so to speak. Just didn't worry about it. The final straw was when I checked my mailbox this weekend and found yet another "verify who you are" letter. Sidenote- I've also sent EQ a letter saying you have 15 more days to investigate my disputes....... I know the "we don't know you" tactic that you are using, and please investigate my requests.

At this point, I'm ready to sue equifax. I was denied an auto loan on a new impala in the amount of $27,000, and also was denied a home loan in the amount of $160k.

Could someone help me please? I've searched ITS on the database and couldn't find what I needed.

As far as I am concerned, you may have a good case. If they truly had no idea who you were, what were they doing sending you copies of your reports. I dont think they have much standing, if they say we didnt know this person enough to act on their disputes, but we felt real comfortable sending multiple copies of their report to them. OR. We couldnt locate their file to dispute it based on the information they supplied in the dispute, but we sure could locate the file to send it to them. Either way the "We dont know who you are" just doesnt work for me.

    Thanks,
From what I understand, there is $1k per violation for refusing to investigate my disputes, then I can say onitive damages for the amount of the car loan. Am I heading in the right direction?
