I have neared success with an ITS letter to AFNI, as they walked into SEVERAL FCRA and FDCPA violations. I requested they reduce the $200 bal to $0, and delete the TL's. They sent a letter saying they have notified the CRA's to delete, however they did not reduce the balance to $0. I am forseeing future issues with them trying to collect on this debt. There is about another

My intent is to send another ITS letter, getting more firm, outlining exactly what the violations were again--there were at least 2, and I think there may be another now, as they are stating a balance due on the letter they sent me. I also want to point out that I want a written confirmation that this debt is not an obligation of mine and should be considered settled, will not be sold, transferred back to the OC or placed with any other CA.

Should I go through all this, or just leave it alone? Any thoughts???

If it disappears from your credit reports, just leave it alone.

You have one year to file suit if they do try to collect.

If you really have them on violations, file suit and collect your $$$.

I got one of those letters. It did absolutely no good. Its still sitting here in front of me, doing about as much good as a pile of dog doo doo. after 5 months of back and forth with EQ, the TL is still on my reports. and ya know what really sucks? I can't do a damn thing about it.

would sending a copy to the CRA's do anything? (I think I know the answer to this one!)

But will it leave you alone?

I would send a copy of the letter to the CRAs...

(Yes, I know this broke all the rules.)

When I had my run-in with AFNI, what I basically did was gave a call to the corporate office, they transferred me *DOWN* to the supervisor directly under the corporate office, he said he would investigate it, and I was to call him back in xx days @ xx o'clock.

I returned the call on that date, and time, and several other times, and got his voice mail, after a few months of not getting anything from him, I called the corporate office again, when they said about transferring it to him again, I pointed out that I was waiting for him to respond back, for months, and they had until the end of business to delete.

The person at the executive offices put me on hold, called the same person, he said he would review it, and I was told to call back by the end of the day. I called back by the end of business, and the executives office faxed the deletion letter, and it was already off of Experian before I could call Experian to dispute it.

TransUnion I've never had them delete without disputing, I think they may have done so ONCE in about a year and a half. But when I disputed it, it disappeared as well.
