    Hi all.....first post!

Have a question about JC Penney, but first wanted to say a big thanks to everyone on the board for providing such incredible insight to the wonderful world of credit. I have learned more from this website in the few months I've browsed here then I had in my entire credit life! So again thanks.

That said, I have a question about JC Penney. I had a charge-off which ended up with Arrow Collections, which I have since paid off. I have spoken to a rep at Arrow and she kindly removed the deragotory from my Equifax report out of goodwill. Unfortunately, JC Penney is reporting transferred account (still negative) on my Experian and TU. I spoke to the rep at Arrow and she said if JC Penney would report Arrow holding the account instead of JC Penney, she would be glad to remove those as well. I had recently called JCP and they said they would change the status to transferred to Arrow. They obviously did that with the exception of the mention of Arrow, but they are still showing as JCP accounts.

Do I have any rights here? Should JC Penney be deleted from my report since the account has been transferred. Please help!!

btw - Started cleaning my reports March 02, with at least 20 derogs on each report. Down to 2 on each now. Scored jumped from middle 500's, to TU 640, EXP 690, EQF 636. Recently was approved for several new credit cards and refinance on my auto loan from 24% to 9%!!!! Thanks again everyone!

I would love to hear the vets' advice on this question as well. I'm having an almost identical problem w/ JCP, and I know of at least one other person on the board who is, too!

Wow! Arrow goodwill deleted. I'm impressed LOL!

No they don't have to delete it. What is maybe negative is the late payments leading up the the CO? I would check out the nutcase series for JCP.

I have a similar situation with JCP. I had a charged off account that I paid, never went to collections. I sent a PFB letter to them asking that it be removed, because of a pending mortgage. The lady I spoke with said that they will remove the account, if it's been over 5 years and has been paid off. You might try the PFB route.

I have the same problem with charge oof I paid the bill before charge. JCP was suppose to take a late fee off but they did not. It resulted in chage off. I sent them proof but I just received a letter stating that JCP investigated it and they feel the reporting is correct. I plan on writing the Ceo early next week. I will tell him unless he wants to deal with a multi-million dollar lawsuit and/or a Class action lawsuit from what everyone has indicated at this posting some very serious issues should be address. Anyone interested in a class action lawsuit?

mrayd, I must be having brain fade tonight... what is a PFB? I did a search on the site but got so many results it wasn't helpful. Is it similar to a goodwill letter? If so, how would that work if the account is c/o, closed, etc?

    Thanks!

    Mrayd-

Do you have a contact name for the person you spoke with at JCP?? I have spoken to one rep and one supervisor with no luck. Did you speak to someone or use PFB?

I used PFB, but then got a call from Jannette Sheppard a Senior Client Affairs Specialist. Her phone number is 972-334-1057. She's a very nice lady.

When she called, she said that they couldn't find where I had actually paid. I have no idea when I had paid, nor have any record of it, it was at least 5 years ago. All of my credit reports list the account as paid after charge off, so she asked me to fax them to her.

Got a letter a couple days later saying that they were investigating the inquiry.

Thanks for the help. I'll go through PFB first, then try her if I have no luck. Appreciate the quick response!

    Mrayd-

One more question for ya if you don't mind. I've scanned through PFB, but have never used it. When you use that source, do you actually fully explain your personal situation before submitting, or give general info only, then wait for a response? And, how long does it generally take to get a response?

I explained the situation in my letter through PFB. I believe someone had called me the next day about it, then got a followup letter about a week later.

I still don't have it resolved, but someone is at least looking at ti.

Gilmores, I have the same problem my paid in full JCP was sold to Arrow's? Was it showing up on your credit report with Arrow or did you call them? Tell your story. Who did you talk to at Arrow. Do you have a contact person at Arrow's? I'm trying to cut Arrow off at the past. Thanks

Got a letter on Friday from JCP. They are deleting the account completely. They said they don't have records far enough back to verify what happened on the account.

    One more little victory!!
