I want to get a CL increase on my Penneys card, but the guy I spoke to said they would pull a hard inquiry on all 3 reports. What the heck? When I originally got the card 18 months ago, the inquiry is only on EQ. I can take an inquiry on EQ, but I have too many on the other two. Any ideas?? My CL is only $500, so I know I can get it higher (which would really help my ratios right now!!)

    Hey,

They probably want to get a look at your entire credit history, so that is the way to do it. ;-)

But I understand what you are saying.

I too wonder if those inquiries will hurt your chance of increase, or will they be more interested in your balances on other cards, and how you have been with your other credit.

I know, I understand the principle, I just don't want any more inquiries on my TU and EXP, they each have 10. My EQ, which they checked before, I only have a couple, so 1 more would be ok. I just sent a letter thru PFB, so we'll see. I've had good luck w/ PFB so far. Oh well, we'll see!!

Most cards are getting more stringent these days.

    Tracy,
Don't mean to hijack your thread, but would you mind sharing where you were at when you were approved for JCP?

I had JCP for years, but haven't used them in about 8 years. I'd like to get them back. My scores are close to the mid-600's with about 2 CAs left on each.

I'd be very happy with a $500 limit with them.

I'd love to tell you, but I have NO idea.It was my Pre-Creditnet days! LOL I had really BAD credit, and just applied for many things, surprised each time I got something. I can tell you that they pulled EQ, and I had 2 or 3 charge-offs, and unpaid judgement, and a seriously delinquent CC. It's all gone now, so I should definately qualify for an increase. If I could get one w/ a $500 CL, yiou should really have no problem!!
