YUP - I am very pleased - AND - the card I got looks completely different from the website card at www.jcbusa.com - much more updated. I posted on another board - the background looks like a plat card, but has detailed geometric and circular designs - much like the crop patterns we see occasionally. It has JCB in LARGE letters in the center of the card in darker silver , then JCB CARD in smaller print in the the larger letters. The JCB hologram shows the sun, the stars, and a half moon, and the globe, and JCB - its extremely well done. When you hit the card under direct light, the background turns whiter and the etchings turn blue - the JCB symbols themselves appear almost in 3D - it is stunning. The rate is prime +8.25% - 12.75% for cash or purchases - no cash advance fees. No ATM fees - no late fees for CAL users. It really is an excellent card - and it is STUNNING! I used it at Neiman - Marcus this afternoon for $37.00 - the clerk went bonkers - and told me it was neat to see a really different card - and then commented how cool it was. Used it at Macys for some jockeys on sale - the ASIAN clerk did give a rats'''' I dig it BIGTIME - the upper right front of the card has JCB INTERNATIONAL in NAVY BOLD. ...BUT can you go to a bank and get a "CASH ADVANCE" or at LAX or SFO??? I have only seen VISA/MC/DISCOVERCARD advertised at banks for "CASH ADVANCES"..but NOT JCB... Maybe you just have to ASK...(NOT THAT CASH ADVANCES ARE A GOOD THING TO DO UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY)
apparently ONLY at SANWA BANK in CAL - or via ATM on STAR SYSTEM NETWORK - a few others in Hiawaiii I believe... again - not an issue in SF - but a problem in Omaha! You could still get Omaha cash thru STAR though.. everything straighforward... arff dm
Dogman: Congratulations on the JCB card!. Didn´t you have already applied for an Amex credit card like Blue or optima Plat?. I don´t see any sense in to pay an anual fee and to have to pay in full everytime if you are able to get an Amex credit card with no anual fee. (?)
Hi GEO - Hi Hedwig - thx all! GEO - I still need the AMEX with no pre-set limit - and - until my Chap 13 falls off, they won't upgrade me... THX to JCB and MC, no issues. Funny, I looked at CE this morning and my score went up another 7 points - my credit UTILIZATION is 1%. 99% available - I love it - and obviously JCB like it as well. aroo - dogman
Re: Re: JCB CARD arrived with a $5K limit!! SANWA bank has been bought out TWICE in the past year and a half to United California Bank and now to "Bank of the West". Double check with BotW before "banking" on that fact.

David, United California Bank became First Interstate Bank about 1980. Is there (or was there) a new (or newer) UCB?

hmmm I thought JCB was abandoning their US operations? Didn't they close all their US accounts late last year?

dogman~~POST OFFICE (JCB)...saw it on the door as I dropped off the CHASE CLOSE LETTER (CERTIFIED R/R) YES I DID SAY THAT THEIR 16.24% WAS A JOKE!!!!!!!! 2.00% HIGHER THAN AMEX DELTA...AND IT GIVES ME MILES!!!!!! (NOT THAT I PAY 14.24%)
