I know we've briefly talked about this before a while ago, but does anyone have a JCB card? I recently applied for this card to replace my Providian line. They appear to be trying hard to gain market share in America. It is a nice looking card and the benefits are ok. I know it is not accepted everywhere, but it would be great for my ratio.

The card is accepted at many high end dept. stores as well as Sears and even Kmart.

    What do you guys think?

Somebody else I know from this board got JCB - and really likes them for exactly the reason you state - ratios - they are an obtainable prestige card.

Their Yoahan Card is the high ticket I believe but
they all look great. check the threads.

MILES - they are widely accepted in LA and San Fran.
I see it everywhere in Hawaii. They also have a secured JCB card option.

best regards - I am gonna surf their site :)

I have heard that they call to your home and work to verify your salary, etc. Also that they
    pull from Experian

I have a JCB card since last year. They even gave me a card while my BK was on my report (even though I had a year to go before it dropped off). Their interest rate is low...about 14%, and you can pay in installments. I had the Northwest WorldPerks card, which is now discontinued. They give cash back now. Most hotels, car rentals, and airlines take JCB, but you sure get funny looks (most people have not seen one before). Recently they got into an agreement with AMEX to expand their acceptability, but my feeling is AMEX will buy the portfolio soon, so it will be an AMEX card.
