Anyone know if JCPenney's will do a goodwill adjustment on late pays ? If it's due to roll off in less than 1 1/2yrs [go to positive status] is it worth messing with ? I mean will it really increase a credit score ?
There's always a chance. I've had good success with this letter. I have not used it for a JCPenney account, but a few other OC's have been kind enough to grant my wishes. I use this letter for my wife's accounts too. She's got excellent credit with the exception of 6 accounts that have 1-30day late pay showing from 1999 when she was not working. Give it a shot. They may say YES!
Hi! I sent JCP a letter via Planet Feedback and they deleted all negs on my account. They were GREAT to deal with. It doesn't hurt to write them. I simply told them that I had a card for 10 years and that I was a very good customer. I explained that the lates were during and isolated time period when I was having financial difficulty. Go for it! Good luck and please keep us posted.
