Okay here is the deal... Remember when I was asking about getting a new job while you are prego?? well i interviewed yesterday and the position will not be open until next March... PERFECT, and they sounded very very interested. BUT then, I had to fill out some paper work... they are going to do a credit check on me... Now I don't feel comfortable saying "Oh wait, which report do you pull?" So should I just call and put a fraud alert on my two bad ones, and then hope for the best? I only have 1 unpaid med for 1800 on EQ, and 2 unpaid med totalling 375 on EX... I don't know if that counts but... TU has no negs, but 2 paid collecitons. it doesn't matter about fraud alert because I have already been approved for a car... so what do you guys think? _________________ just waiting on that student loan consolodation...
What type of job are you applying for? As long as there are no collections on there showing you owe thousands and judgements, etc. I don't foresee a problem. Now if you are applying to the FBI, even 1 neg is too many and they will make you pay it and provide proof of satisfied debt.
They are pulling credit because the company has had people abuse the "corporate credit card" policy. it's a big huge company, so if they don't have to take someone with bad credit, then they won't... see what i mean? and technically $1,800 is thousands...
Re: Re: Job Credit Check??? Uh Oh Shamefully, I've abused not one, but two corporate cards. And I'm--well, I was--exactly the kind of person they're trying to weed out. IMO, companies should be careful about snooping into people's credit histories. In sour economies like this one, there's a good chance that many job candidates my have a few baddies. At what point then, does some human resources clerk decide to look for what kind of credit one has, as opposed to just screening out the corporate card abusers?
Re: Re: Job Credit Check??? Uh Oh DOES THE CREDIT REPORT HAVE AN EFFECT ON YOUR JOB PERFORMANCE...LIKE IT HAS ON YOUR DRIVING??? (SO THE INSURANCE COMPANIES THINK)
Re: Re: Job Credit Check??? Uh Oh okay, i only have medical collections. 1 on equifax for 1,800 dollars from 4 years ago... 2 on experian for 138, 126 dollars respectively also from 4 years ago... if they pull transunion, i'm golden... but if they pull the other two then darn... i just put a fraud alert on them, should i try to dispute the entries?
Re: Re: Job Credit Check??? Uh Oh I don't think a fraud alert is going to help you. That just lets creditors know to get verification before issuing you credit. I don't think it will have any effect on pulling for employment. I would dispute them, especially if the SOL has passed. You might just want to be up front and tell the employer that when they pull your report they'll see some medical collections. If they're old, they may not even be a problem. I've spent way too much time in my life worrying that I wouldn't get or would lose something because of a credit report, and most of the time I worried in vain. Don't get yourself too upset--it may be nothing.
