I know you guys have used your lines and made payments, I have a question for you. My statement closed 11/10/2001. I made 2 payments through my checking, one on 11/13 and the other on 11/19. They posted but when I call the automated line it states my last payment and states my next payment is due by Dec 5?? I called them so clueless, the rep said I have to give my payment time to go through the system????

Just curious once you paid, did you happen to check the automated line and if so did it still tell you a payment was due by such and such a date??????

Not sure if their system is slow, or even thought it states your payment it still says payment is due by this date etc??

    Thanks

Mom, have you checked online to see if a payment posted?

I have not needed to call the automated system, because my payment posted in about 4 days.

Maybe JP will be able to answer you question......

I'm assuming you are referring to AMEX? It does sound like a lot of trouble. First, we have to double check to see if the LOC is real, then we have to find out if they will accept payments!! There must be a better way. The info I read says they will send you a statement for your payment along with a return envelope. Was that the case with you?

Thanks Leo, oh yes it posted within minutes of me making the payments. But when i call the automated line it still states my next payment is due by such and such a date?? Just not sure if their automated system will say no payment due at the time etc??

Momof3 - I've noticed this with other on-line accounts. The on-line statement will show a payment being received but it continues to show a payment due date for that same payment.

    Thanks JD.

Yes they gave me soooo much trouble I was tempted to say the hell with them, but after all the put me through I said I "would" try them. But I did as you did and deposited a check and waited until it cleared my acount with them.

Yes I received a statement dated 11/10 and it said my payment was due 12/5. I have made 2 payments, 11/13 and 11/19 they both posted and when I call the automated line it acknowledges my payments but states my next payment is due on 12/5??????? And their reps are not the sharpest knives in the drawer LOL. Not to mention when you call to speak to them you have to answer 101 questions before they will even discuss your account. I am all for security but this is a little overboard on their part.

Hmmmmm so even when payment is received it still says that?? Well maybe the rep should have said that I asked her if this is how the automated system works, she said no????

    thanks again:)

An exception to the rule Momof3. Most companies are better to deal with on the phone than on-line. I have never spoken with a human at AMEX. Everything seems to work better on-line.

    Mom,

I should still show a payment due, but if your payment has been paid, it will not state any amount (because there is $0 due).

If it is happening like that, it is fine, I've done it almost every month like that.
