I saw that.....So what do you think? Are all you bankone cardholders ready to switch over to chase?

It will be awhile to see what happens, but should be fun to watch :)

I can hardly keep up! I initially started out with Wachovia, then onto First USA and Bank One in the space of 5 years. I would have preferred if Citi brought Bank One instead since I already have Chase.

That sucks!! I hate Chase, I hate MBNA. I have done the BT from BankOne to Citi and back. Now what? I won't be able to BT from Citi to Citi. I guess I'll have to get BofA involved in the shuffle.

Maybe it will take a while before they become "real" Chase cards (I hope).

so does this mean if I EVER get approved for a BankOne card that I applied for on dec 12th, that it will just be converted to a chase card? Also, when this stuff happens (banks buying each other out) would I lose the fact that it is a signature card and the rewards program on it? never been through this process and am just curious. Thanks!

I guess a lot happens when you miss a day at work. I am off today--I work at Bank One in Columbus, OH. I just emailed work to see what the scoop is. I am very shocked, no rumblings of this was ever mentioned in meetings, conferences etc. I am as shocked as everyone else is on here.

ero2, as far as I know, they keep the terms at least for a while. But if it's something like a mileage card for a certain airline, sometimes they'll change banks.

    I HAVE 2 BANK ONE/UNITED VISA ACCOUNTS

...AND A THIRD ACCOUNT THAT IS SOME OTHER KIND OF REWARDS (NOW 0.00% BT)

    I CAN'T LOSE THOSE...BUT I CAN'T DEAL WITH CHASE EITHER!!!

THEY ADMITTED IN WRITING THAT THEY HAD ADDED (WRONGLY) A 30 DAY LATE TO A CLOSED ACCOUNT...BUT WOULD NOT "UN-JACK" THE OPEN ACCOUNT NOR APPROVE THE SECOND ACCOUNT I APPLIED FOR...

I'm with you, GEORGE. I also have a United Visa and another card with them. I can't lose the United miles either. Maybe United will get pissed at Chase and terminate the agreement and go someplace like Citi.

Look at Shell (their MasterCard, not the Shell retail card). It was a Chase card, then Shell terminated that and Shell MasterCards are through Citi, I think. So Chase came up with another gas card.

Let's pray for Citi or BofA.
