I noticed that on my Equifax, and quite possibly on my other CR's that my name ends with "Jr". I am Not a JR. I do not and have never shared my father's first name. I'm not even a Senior as I do not and will never have any children. Does this mean that it would be easier to dispute all my negs as 'not mine'? Could this somehow hurt me? Should I have it taken off, or could I use it to my advantage? Heaven knows how it got there in the first place but it did.
All the CRA's aded JR to my name also. I think they randomly add crap to your credit report so that there is always something there that is wrong. I don't know if you can use it to your advantage, but it is worth a try. You can dispute it and get a free credit report for your efforts. TU is always adding junk like that to my report so I dispute one item a month and get a free credit report a month from them including my FICO score. I just sent another letter to them today.
Dang! I must be hungry for adventure! Because I clicked on this topic thinking..."JR Ewing's stealing his credit identity? Wow!"
