Another good article and you don't have to register to read it!
I know a lot of members are having a problem with discover and thought this would be of interest!

That link went to the station's home page.

Here's the link directly to the story.

    Thanks Hedwig,
I've got another victory to post that
will probably need to be fixed. I'm only
good at getting you to the home page???
    It's a judgement against Lenahan for $219,000
brought on by a consumer for threats and FDCPA
violations. Take a look and see what you think.

What you need to do is to click through until you have the actual story on your screen, then copy the address that is in the browser address bar.

The other one also went to the home page of the site, but it was easier to find and probably won't change for a while. Newspapers and radio/TV stations have a tendency to take links off their front page after a day or two, because there's always a new story.

    WOW!

Judge admits that the best strategy may be to just STOP.

Judge wipes out woman's credit card debt

CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland judge wiped out a womanâ??s credit card debt Monday, angrily ruling that Discover Card was exploiting the woman.

Ruth Owens paid almost $3,500 on her $1,900 dollar debt. But she still was left with a $5,500 balance owed on the account.

Discover Card sued Owens, but Cleveland Municipal Judge Robert Triozzi ruled against the company, stating it was unreasonable and unjust.

Discover Financial Services spokeswoman Beth Metzler has declined to comment on the judgeâ??s decision.

Triozzi notes in his ruling that if Owens simply stopped paying altogether in May 1997, her account would have been closed. He says Discover would probably have negotiated a settlement for much less than the amount due.

    Hi Butch,
I just wanted to add that I think it was a default jugement too(don't have it in front of me now)! This sends a message to CA's that it works both ways. Thanks for posting the highlights! This is one that I think we can all refer to at some point in time!
