I have a MAJOR problem. I have a judgement, which they are saying is now closed and that I cannot pay it. Why is that? Second of all, the judgement somehow ended up on my Father's credit report even thought the account is in my name only! It is in individual account. I called the company who filed the judgement and they say that they can't do anything and that I need to contact the credit agency about this situation. But I can't find a number for Equifax where I can speak to a REAL person! How do I go about getting this removed if I can't even get a hold of a human being at this credit agency? I already filed a dispute by mail and haven't gotten a response yet. Also, how can I pay off this judgement that they claim to be closed? The lawyer's office says that it's closed and I couldn't pay it even if I wanted to!? Please email a response back to detrece81@aol.com ASAP ASAP ASAP ASAP Thanks!
Do you and your father have similar names? Was he a co-signer on the debt? Why would the creditor list your judgement on your father's CR? Maybe your father can dispute the judgement himself and if it is not verified, at least it will be cleared from his report but if it is verified, he can check with his county clerk's office to see what creditor got a judgement against him. As for a judgement being closed, I have no idea about that but there are others here much more knowledgeable about topics like that. Hopefully, someone could answer you. Good luck!
