Ok here is the situation I have a judgement from 06/2002 for a trafic ticket. I paid the ticket in 07/2002 and was told the judgment would be deleted. Well it has never been deleted just updated as satisified and the court system will not remove the entery. I have disputed the entery and it keeps getting verified. Any ideas on what i should do next?

    Thanks

Sounds like they did update the status of the judgment to satified. Since it is a public record, it can legally remain on your CR for 7 yrs from the date satisfied.
Who told you that it would be removed? Or are you confusing removing it with the satisfaction notice?

That was my question also. Who told you it would be removed? Judgements generally just show that they have been satisfied and are not usually deleted after payment.

I was told by the lady in trafic court that it would be deleted once satisfied. I am guess she had no clue what she was talking about.

Most government agencies don't need to file and go through the courts, after several notices, they get what is called an "administrative judgment" which is based on the original fine, tax assessment, or etc.

It sounds as though she gave you the partial truth, meaning once you paid, they would mark the judgment satisfied, and discontinue any collection actions. That does not change the fact that the judgment is a public record, and once filed it can legally remain on your CR.

What you need to do is come up with a strategy to get the CRA to remove the TL.

Have you moved since the judgment was filed? If so, request the CRA's to remove your old addresses. After a few months you might want to dispute the judgment with the CRA as "not mine" since they won't have your address info any more.

Also, if there is any information missing on the judgment as reported by the CRA, such as "N/A" for amounts, etc. The CRA must report accurate information, and "N/A" is not accurate. When they try to verify their info with the government agency, the agency will not be able to verify with them due to poor recordkeeping, etc.

My point is that if the judgment is a matter of public record, you probably can't do anything about it other than dispute with the CRA and hope that it will fall off.

Do a search for CHOD..it is rapidly approaching, and presents an opportunity for you to dispute successfully with the CRA's

Have you had the address associated with this removed from your reports?

Do you live in DC? It's been my experince, as well as the experiences of others, that DC clerks who deal with people are useless and never know what they are talking about ... in fact I wonder sometimes if they take out their miserbale-ness on others by providing wrong information to people ... always try to get something in writing ....

also, check your city ordinances to make sure they followed the law. the traffic people in DC do a lot of things that are not by the book and you can usually catch them on this behavior.

You can also try verifying this public record yourself and see what you come up with ....due to useless clerks, sometimes record keeping is subpar and records get lost.

I thought that for verification of judgments and disputed items that 2 out 3 things are needed - name, SSN or address? If any of the two are valid, the item or judgment is verified as accurate. Or does that not apply to municipal tickets?

3*Or does that not apply to municipal tickets?

    1*That's correct.
2*This is not as this is only one of the 3.
3*municipal tickets are the same as any other dispute,

Well I had my old address deleted and then disputed the judgement with Equifax. I guess only time will tell this is going to be the 2nd time I have disputed this item. I also disputed my BK which I have already had deleted from TU and EXP.
